During the summer of 2019, as part of Wakefield Council's Festival of the Moon, Creative Challenge, I worked with singer Jacqui Wicks to create a new composition responding to Luke Jerram's Museum of the Moon, and the theme of the first moon landing.

Using poetry written by women in response to or featuring the moon; verbatim interviews with women about their response to the moon, its patterns and cycles; sounds of and from space; live looping and music listened to by the astronauts on the first moon landing. We created a unique aleatory and improvised piece of live performance as part of the Festival launch on Friday 23rd August 2019 at Wakefield Market Hall.

You can hear some of the soundscapes that featured in the performance below, for more information or to purchase copies of the pieces written for voice, 'Hymn to the Moon' or 'She Turned her Face' please contact charliewellsmusic@gmail.com
